ME

Over 20 years of Financial Experience

- ABOUT ME -

I have over 20 years' experience in financial services and live with my wife Lorna and son Dylan in the village of Kings Worthy,  just outside Winchester.

I love the process of learning and work hard to improve myself both in and outside of work. In 2020 I completed the Registered Life Planner (RLP) designation with the Kinder Institute, which not only changed my life profoundly, but gave me further tools to help my clients. I am passionate about helping my clients align their finances with a life that brings greater meaning, satisfaction and joy.

I have also always been very passionate about sport and spent three great years at Loughborough University finding out I wasn’t as good as I thought I was at most of them!

Having played football for many, many years, I finally listened to my aching limbs and stopped playing vets football in 2015. I took up coaching my son’s football team as the local club needed volunteers and this has been the perfect way for me to stay engaged in a game I love. I am now a Level 2 FA Coach and I'm proud of the boys' outstanding performance, which led them to win the Testway League in their first season of 11-a-side football in 2021 and come runners up in the cup. In 2022 we finished third in the league and runners-up in the league cup again.

I also turned to running and subsequently Triathlon, setting myself bigger and bigger challenges. I have loved learning about technique, nutrition and pacing and exploring my physical limits. In August 2017 I completed my first Full Ironman in Vichy, France and in 2019 I completed The Race to the King, a brutal 53-mile run along the South Downs ending at Winchester Cathedral. As part of my own life plan I have put more time aside for hiking and wild camping, making sure I do at least one decent trip each year and building up to someday walking the entire South West Coast path.

2020: I walked along the south coast from Keyhaven to Weymouth over 3 days to meet up with my family for a camping holiday (that was cut short by Storm Francis!)

2021: I completed the Three Castle Path from Winchester to Windsor in two days.

2022: I walked into Winchester to catch the train to Southampton, then another short walk to the ferry terminal to catch the ferry to the Isle of Wight. I had a wonderful two days walking the coastal path and camping on a beach with a driftwood fire.

I love being outside in nature and grow a lot of our food on an allotment and in our garden; clients are often given produce through the productive summer months. In 2022 I had a wonderful three days at The Sharpham Trust in Devon on a mindfulness in nature retreat and have added at least one retreat a year into my life plan.

I have recently learned that I have spent most of my life subconsciously reacting to life from inner fears that I didn't even know I had. By becoming aware of these, I have been able to make much better decisions and achieve a happier balance to my life, as well as helping others have a much healthier relationship to money.

"May your choices reflect your hopes, not your fears"
